Carnatic Violin
Overview
The violin is an integral solo and accompanying instrument in South Indian classical music. In the Carnatic tradition, the violin is tuned and held uniquely to facilitate rich microtonal oscillations (Gamakas). Our course guides students through holding posture, smooth bowing techniques, fingering for swaras, and traditional Carnatic repertoire from basic Varisais to classic Kritis.
